O orçamento empresarial trata de planejar e estimar os ganhos, custos, despesas e investimentos que a empresa terá em um período futuro. É uma das ferramentas mais utilizadas para gestão do resultado, pois, permite ao administrador ter uma expectativa do lucro ou prejuízo que sua atividade deve gerar, o que lhe permite tomar medidas e buscar soluções de melhorias em tempo hábil.

O orçamento é composto por planos e os principais para a maioria das empresas são:

Plano de Marketing e Vendas – É o plano que estima em detalhes as quantidades a serem vendidas por produto, com respectivos preços médios e eventuais despesas variáveis de vendas, tais como: comissões, fretes, salários de vendedores entre outras. Esse plano servirá para projetar o faturamento da empresa e vai gerar bases importantes para o orçamento de produção.

Plano de Produção – A partir do orçamento de vendas, avalia-se qual a estrutura necessária para produzir e estocar e os respectivos custos. É importante nesta etapa, conhecer muito bem a capacidade produtiva e os prazos de estocagem, bem como prever eventuais desperdícios.

Além destes, os planos administrativos e financeiros completam o orçamento empresarial que além de projetar o resultado deve projetar o fluxo de caixa para o período.
